A conference of cross media - creative workshops "Cross Media Zen" are being organized for the second time already and will take place 8th – 10th June in Lithuania’s capital Vilnius.
Internationally acclaimed European lecturers will introduce film, literature, computer game, IT, animation, communication and other professionals from both Lithuania and the neighbouring countries to the latest trends and opportunities in cross media.
Dominykas Širvinskas, the Head of MEDIA Desk Lithuania which organizes the conference notes that the decision to organize the conference for the second time was inspired by the success of last year.
"This year‘s event will bring together even more professionals of various fields. Nevertheless, the conference will still be free of charge just like it was last year. Therefore we hope to attract a significant amount of professionals not only from Lithuania but also from the neighbouring countries who together with the lecturers from abroad would be able to discover the opportunities offered by cross media and apply them in their own activities", said D. Širvinskas.
According to D. Širvinskas, the main mission of the conference is not only to provide the knowledge and advice on integrating a number of different Medias in order to achieve one goal but also to introduce professionals from completely different fields to each other.
The organizer of the conference remembers very well the idea expressed by Mark Atkins, the director of ,,Crossover Labs" who participated in the conference last year, which perfectly illustrates the need for such conferences and creative workshops.
,,People who create the content and technologies work separately. Game developers do not know the people who make films. Website design professionals do not know the people creating TV content. GPS mobile application developers do not meet theatre directors. People live in the isolated worlds of creativity. They can be compared to the representatives from various different tribes who have no idea what creative potential they would have if they worked together. They are unaware about how their work would be funded if they worked together", M. Atkins has noted last year.
This years ,,Cross Media Zen" conference will focus greatly on the analysis of media revolution, success stories and discussions about potential projects and their funding.
The conference – creative workshops ,,Cross Media Zen" will take place 8th – 10th at the National Gallery of Art and the creative workshops will be held at Vilnius Design college.
The participation in the conference and creative workshops is free of charge. The organizers invite all those who are interested to register on http://crossmediazen.lt/
