U.S. Embassy partners with MITA and SRI International on Keystone Conference "U.S. Approaches to Innovation", May 8, LITEXPO

The Embassy of the United States, in collaboration with the Lithuanian Agency for Science, Innovation, and Technology (MITA), is bringing exceptional speakers from the U.S. government, academia and the private sector on May 8.  The one-day conference will explore American models of support for innovation and entrepreneurship, specifically the “triple helix” (university-industry-government) relationships which best support innovative thinking.

The Keynote Speaker for this event will be Dr. Curtis Carlson, CEO of SRI International.  SRI International is a nonprofit, independent research and innovation center serving government and industry. SRI provides basic and applied research, laboratory and advisory services, technology development and licenses, deployable systems, products, and venture opportunities.

"In the 21st century, innovation is the true driver of the economy. It is also the force that will help us solve problems -- global health, climate change, renewable energy, ensuring adequate food and water supply for the growing population of our planet. Lithuania is taking a bold leap in harnessing the talent and education of its people, and the United States wants to be Lithuania’s partner in this process," said U.S. Ambassador Deborah A. McCarthy.
